Before you enter the town of Ísafjörður, you can take a left hand turn onto road 60 (Vestfjarðavegur). You will then enter a tunnel and after driving for a few minutes you will come have the option to turn towards Suðureyri inside the tunnel. In Suðureyri you can stop at the lagoon close to town where you can hand feed the cod that swims into the lagoon. There is a dock that has been built especially for this activity by the lagoon. You can bring bread or anything similar to see if the cod will swim up to you and take a bite. After your visit to Suðureyri you will head back the same way towards Ísafjörður. Arnarstapi and Hellnar are up next tiny villages that lie just beneath the Snæfellsjökull glacier. After your stop there you will start making your way towards the Borgarfjörður area, making a few stops on the way. Your accommodation for the night will be in the Húsafell area.

On your way towards Reykjavík you have a choice of two routes; taking the tunnel under Hvalfjörður fjord and head straight to Reykjavík or take the much more scenic route along the fjord. If you choose the latter option we recommend making a stop at the whaling station in the bottom of the fjord and maybe even hike to the waterfall Glymur, the second highest waterfall in Iceland.
