ARRIVAL DAY IN ICELAND
Arrival at Keflavík International airport, pick up rental car and drive to Reykjavík where you will settle in at your accommodation. If you want to relax after a long flight we highly recommend visiting the Blue lagoon or Sky lagoon in Reykjavík city after your arrival.

THE GOLDEN CIRCLE OF ICELAND
After breakfast you will explore the famous Golden Circle of Iceland. Your first stop will be at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Þingvellir holds a special place in the minds of the Icelandic nation as it is the birthplace of our culture and where chieftains gathered in the olden days to discuss political matters. It is also a geological wonder as the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are literally pulling it apart, creating an immense rift valley. You can even go for an optional snorkeling session between the continents. Next up is the Geysir geothermal area and the spouting hot spring Strokkur. After that you will drive to the iconic Gullfoss waterfall for some great photo opportunities. On your way to Selfoss you can stop by the volcanic crater Kerið. If you still have energy you can take a nice hike to Reykjadalur and bathe in the geothermal river that runs through the valley before heading back to Reykjavík.

THE SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND TO THE TOWN OF VÍK
You will now head to the South coast. Your first scheduled stop will be at Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Take the opportunity to walk behind it for a unique view and some amazing photos. You will then proceed passed the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier to the picturesque waterfall Skógafoss before heading to the abandoned plane wreck at Sólheimasandur black sand beach. A little further east you can see the beautiful basalt columns of Reynisfjara and witness the awe-inspiring power of the North Atlantic ocean pounding on the rocks.

SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA
The amazing natural beauty of the Snæfellsnes peninsula awaits - You will start your day by driving to Borganes, a small town located in the Borgarfjörður fjord. From there you will drive through the lava fields of Eldborgarhraun where you can take a short hike up to the Eldborg crater. You will then proceed to drive along the south coast of the peninsula to Arnarstapi and Hellnar where you can add an optional caving expedition to Vatnshellir cave. After a refreshing stop there you will enter the Snæfellsnes National Park and drive under the Snæfellsjökull glacier. If conditions are good and you are driving a 4x4 car, it is possible to drive up to the glacier's edge and take a walk on the ice cap.

BORGARFJÖRÐUR AREA
Today you will explore the Borgarfjörður and Húsafell area. You will start the day by visiting Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe. From there the road will lead you to the village of Reykholt. Reykholt is one of Iceland's most historic places. The historian, scholar and chief Snorri Sturluson settled in Reykholt in 1206 and from there weaved a dense network of power and influence all over the country – and in fact all the way to Norway. After your visit to Reykholt, you will continue onwards to Hraunfossar waterfall and Barnafossar waterfall. Surtshellir lava cave is one of Iceland largest lava caves and is open to the public. You will continue onwards to Surtshellir before returning back to Reykjavík city.

Today is your departure day. If you have a flight in the afternoon we can add a sightseeing day out around the Reykjanes peninsula to this day. You can also use the time to visit the Sky lagoon og the Blue lagoon before departing.
